Jeans are, in my opinion, the most comfortable and versatile pieces of clothing you can find. You can wear them everywhere – from school to work, prom to a night out with the girls. What’s important, though, is knowing HOW to wear them. Some mistakes, such as wearing baggy jeans with kitten heels, can cost you your elegance and your appeal. Most women, like you and me, weren’t born stylish and sadly didn’t have the financial possibilities to browse Valentino catalogs. However, back in the 90s we could have saved some money to look like Claudia Schiffer or Anna Nicole Smith in a pair of Guess jeans. Fortunately, nowadays you can find a pair of nice jeans at any price. Looking good is more accessible than it was back then.
If you found that ideal pair of jeans which makes your legs look fantastic, it’s essential to know how to pair them up in order to create an unique look for every occasion. Here are some tips in this direction:
1. Dress the occasion. You can’t go at a gala wearing boyfriend jeans and a pair of sneakers. You might, however, pull off a skinny jean with a pair of high, sexy boots. It’s all about being versatile and knowing how to avoid kitsch. Browse some on-line fashion magazines and check the “What not to wear” columns. By this means, you’ll understand some fashion concepts better.
2. Know what jeans look good on you. There are numerous types of jeans: bootleg, skinny, baggy, ripped, boyfriend etc. You should choose your jeans depending on your body shape. For example, if you have a few extra pounds around the waist area go for a bootleg cut jean with a high waist band. A good pair of jeans can make your body look a lot better!
3. Match the accessories and create unique looks. Play around with what you can find in the closet and in your jewelry box! Sometimes, the accessories are even more important than the clothes. A dull outfit can become quite special if you add the proper earrings and bracelets. Take a classic, black dress for example: if you remove the diamond earrings and the necklace from the look, all you’re left with is a plain, simple outfit with nothing special to it. Experiment and try out different things!
Jeans will always be in – they are indispensable pieces of clothing which simply make our lives more comfortable. Just imagine wearing corduroy pants all the time. Thank God for denim!
